What's the best camera-related bargain you've ever found? Let me know!

Ah this video is brilliant Em! You've put this story together so well, and I'm beyond happy that you bagged this bargain 😂

My Lumix G1 has taught me 2 things about "old" cameras. They still have magic, and the Lumix menus were brilliant from the start of m43! After owning maneeee Lumix cameras, knowing the menu system of one makes it so easy to pick up any other Lumix camera! There's a third thing for anyone who takes a chance with and old Lumix m43. They're delightfully tiny compared the modern BBB (Big Black Brick) cameras! Come on Lumix! Give us a modern tiny GX7!😂👍

By the way, my G1 would love to be the star of one of your videos! Happy to send it to you as a contribution to the channel!😊

I have a gh2 bargain experience too. I saw a bundle of camera gear on an auction site and it included an Olympus om10 film camera - so I bid on it and won the om10. Within the bundle was an immaculate e-m10 mk I (5k clicks) and an equally immaculate red gh2 (12k clicks) - all for £50 + £10 delivery! This was how my m4/3 love affair started. I tested the em10 against my Nikon df and was amazed by the sharpness of the Olympus compared to the df.

I love my GH2, I recently had it out for the new year, and it still feels great in the hand. I have downloaded a few driftwood hacks and the cinematic video does look gorgeous as well. I was going through my collection to try to sell some of my older gear but I will probably never sell my GH2.

Man, this is some high effort video production!
I hope it gets a ton of views!
Nice work.

Honestly, Emily, I'm subscribed to 150-plus channels, mostly to do with photo/video (add thousands of channels visited), and your videos are simply beautiful, easily in the top three. Thank you for the delights. See you soon; take your time.

One of my new years resolutions is to find video styles I love and learn from them. This was such a well-told story with so much attention to detail!

Oh how fun this was. Quite the adventure. My first M43 camera was the GH3. At the time it was a huge step up for my YouTubing compared to my FF Canon. Auto focus AND and flippy screen!

That was my first M4/3 camera and I loved it. I've had every GH camera to date except I skipped the GH4. I remember at the time it won The Great Zacuto Camera Shootout which was just amazing! Or was it the Revenge ... Shootout?? So embarrassing for all the more expensive cinema cams! Congrats on your good buy-a very fun video!!

My two biggest MPB flips were back to back a year ago, a LUMIX G9 for $180 and an Olympus 40-150mm 2.8 pro for $240. G9 just needed to be charged and the lens just needed a firmware update lol.

Lovely, lovely! You are the speaker of my enthusiasm too. This is the camera that opened it all up after my 20-year absence from photography and lead me into digital photography and affordable video realm.
I understand that the hack was not at all that dangerous, but Lumix came up with a firmware update many years after we all forgot about this model. It fixed color science at long last and showed what the real value it was. Check it by all means! I've got two of them and won't be selling them any time soon. They indeed have that sinematic look that just asks for a bit more light, preferably sunshine to tame the contrast, and it will have that special character that we now try to simulate with some silly means.

The GH2 was the first camera that got my mum and me into the M43 system back in the days. Still got this marble around here and took it with me as a photo cam when filming stuff. It looks pretty funny combined with the Oly 40-150 F2.8 you mentioned in your newest video :D
5 Years ago, i got a pretty good deal on a broken GH4 for 150€. The touchscreen was dead. 10€, 30days waiting and some screws later, the touchscreen flex cable was fixed.
My current lineup consists of GH2, GH3, GH4 and today, my bargain deal G9 arrives. I could not be happier.

Really well delivered story of a wee bargain. I very much enjoyed the pacing of the storytelling. Texhnically superb!
It reminded me of a problem i had with the back wheel of an old, much-loved Oly em1. The back wheel was packing in and the prognosis was not good. I bought a battery pack for £7.00 and used that wheel. Result!

I recently picked up a pristine Lumix g85 for $275 which I thought was an amazing bargain but that doesn't compare to 27 quid! 😮
