My PACACT claim just got approved at the beginning of the month and backdated to December 2023.
Thank you to everyone on this channel for I never would have filed without the information provided.

I was denied about 20 years ago for a shoulder injury and after watching how horrible was for my dad with the VA I never went back. Thinking about trying again since I heard it was better now.

When I was getting out of the AF in 1992 and went through the Transition Assistance Program briefings we had the county VSO as a speaker. Before he left we all had to schedule an appointment with him as part of the process. We then went to the hospital, signed out our records, went to his office and he went through them page by page and listed EVERYTHING we had been seen for in our career. Within a year I was 30% with several appeals that ended up taking another 12 years to get all the way through and ratings. I am surprised that in this day it isn't a standard operating procedure.

I barely made the deadline last summer on Aug 2023, then I was finally able to submit all my evidence in Jan 2024 and my claim was approved mid-April! It takes time, but if you have a "CODED" claim (meaning a legitimate illness that is classified with a code by the VA), you have a VERY GOOD chance of an approval. It took 4.5 months roughly for the decision and I got back paid to Aug 2022! I owe much gratitude and appreciation to "California Veterans Services of Ventura" who assisted me in the application process! Thank you!!!

When I separated from the USAF, not one person even suggested that I go to the VA to get signed up or about any disability claims I could file (I've had tinnitus and sinusitis ever since I got out). It wasn't until I began watching these streams on youtube many years later that I was informed about what I was entitled to and what forms to use. I received 0% disability for my sinus issues (I worked in a paint shop) and am currently waiting to hear back after I turned in a supplemental claim on that and a claim on my tinnitus. Thank-you for your information!

I love your podcast. I’ve been helping many of my brothers and sisters in arms. I’ve developed a pretty successful process for filing claims with them for free.

I’ve gotten them to download their service record and using specific pages regarding assignments and qualifications they develop a complete occupational exposure document and submit both with their other supporting documents with their claim. Makes it hard to be denied for a condition that can be traced directly to duty assignments and qualifications.

It is a blessing you all put out the information you do. Yet, for most of us older vets and those that are minorities things are not clear cut despite tragedy. My last appeal was filed in 2009 and is still being fought. I won my case on my own because what happened to me was off-the-chart. Yet, I only received one yr. of back-pay. The VA made me get another C&P years late in my case and only paid back until then. Sinful and painful.

Damn where were yall 9 years ago when I got out 🤣 I JUST got my disability in September of 2022 after filing in September of 2021. I really wish I could get the compensation they owe me for all the crap I went through from 2015-2021 😑

Where was anyone when I got out in 1982. Only with encouragement from a shipmate did I receive a 10% disability at 62 years old that I should have applied for at 22 years old.

I slipped in 1979 and cracked a disc in my back. I was assured when I signed the papers to get out that disability pay would be automatic. I was denied twice. But they accepted me on my first try for VA health care. I have back pain to this day. I had to retire early because I couldn't safely work with the pain 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Do you have to specify any or all of the disabilities on the intent to file form?

The VA screwed me when i got out in 2007. They said i was entitled to 0% because i could still walk. When i filed again last year i was able to get 70% that would have been nice for the 15 years before that.

I was part of a PTSD group and they stopped meeting in 2014. I just got 10% in September of 2024. I started this process asking for records in 2003. I know i will never see any of that money. I constantly hurt knees and back. I've been having headaches every since boot camp. Nightmares and night sweats are just a few things I deal with day-to-day. When the military is done with you they mean just that.

I was shot down in 1944 with injuries. I am working with Veterans Evaluation Services. We are now researching a disability given in 1946. Will let you know how it turns out. Other injuries do not seed to count. Good luck to us..

I filed my claim in 11/2023 for the pact act and they gave me 50% for headaches, however for my sinuses "Rhinious" claim they said its pending. I got a call aaking was I in Bahrain or turkey during my development. Which I was. So hopfully they get me a rating for that because my sinuses can get really bad all throughtout the year.

The VA gave me a CPAP but denied my claim saying it’s not diagnosed as sleep apnea and deemed it non service related. I went to my pcp and was told there’s nothing else she can do about it because it’s all been recorded in her notes. I also went to the VA claims rep and was told to get a diagnosis and new documentation to service connect it. I’m at a dead end here and don’t know what my next step should be. It’s so frustrating.
