2024 BMW X2 M35i Full Review and Tour /// The BMW Hot Hatch

I had a week to live with the 2024 BMW X2 M35i, as tested here at $59,295 ($51,400). How was it? Well BMW has finally given the “M35i” series its unique flair: A unique digital experience first paired with a sporty car second. This test car was fully loaded with upgraded wheels, the $2,600 premium pack, $1,700 driving pro pack and more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🏁 @Alllcarnews Spec Sheet: The M35i variant uses a B48 2.0L Turbo 4 making 312HP and 295 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels with 0-60 in 5.2sec and a 155MPH TopSpeed. Power is sent through a 7-speed DCT to all four wheels. EPA rates the X2 at 23MPG City, 26MPG Combined, 32MPG Highway though I got 35MPG on the highway in Eco mode. 🏁

Highs:
+ The design is striking and unmistakably a BMW on the roads
+It feels quick, has a futuristic and incredibly well built interior, and sporty seats.
+Driving dynamics were strong; feeling like a big hot hatch, and dramatically can change personalities between drive modes.

Lows:
-iDrive 9 ditches the iDrive controller for pure touch, a few Apple CarPlay connectivity bugs
-Exhaust sound is disappointing for quad tips. Iconic Sound pumped in audio is a fun gimmick, but I prefer natural sounds.
-7 Speed DCT bears low speed DCT jerk/lag in stop/go traffic

7.8/10 - The X2 is unique, bold looking, and stands out, but the X1 has a M35i trim too and that may be more appealing to some.

I like this look. More aligned with the nomenclature (inline with X4 and X6) and I like the lines. The inside looks stylish and the engine specs seem good. Overall, BMW did a good job.
