Civil Society Seminar Series: Climate change and monetary policy - how far have we come?

We announced some key decisions that will bring the Eurosystem’s monetary policy operations closer into line with the Paris Agreement goals. Frank Elderson, ECB Executive Board Member, Toto Silvonen, Deputy Director General Market Operations and Elke Heinle, Head of Risk Strategy met with civil society representatives to discuss these decisions and the progress of the ECB’s climate action plan. The seminar was moderated by Irene Heemskerk, head of the ECB’s Climate Change Centre.
