I'm not even an Austrian and this is bad. This is not a critique of Austrian economics it's a critique of some Austran economist quotes.

Some "debunking." I'm someone who leans pretty libertarian but don't consider myself a believer in all things Austrian economics. Even to me me it's obvious you've never read a word of Hayek, except for the "damning" quotes you pulled up. If you'd read The Road to Serfdom (really just the first ten pages) you'd know that he was no rigid anarcho-capitalist. He says he supports a welfare state and social insurance programs. He's laissez faire in not believing in central planning being able to defy the laws of economics and believing a free price system is necessary for an economy to function. Mises was more "extreme" but even he wasn't an anarchist. This is pretty basic stuff. Try cracking a single book from an ideological school before "debunking" it. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't waste your time listening to someone debunking Marx who had never read any Marxist books.

As somebody wanting to learn counter-arguments this left me quite unsatisfied.
You just mentioned couple of quotes, mostly misinterpreted it, and with each quote you ignored reasoning that led to that quote, and you simply address YOUR interpretation of the quote without giving counter-arguments to the reasoning.

As for the anecdotal evidence of USSR "working": well, you argue that it isn't social disintergration, based on video of USSR propaganda, yet you fail to mention gulags...
As for "raising people out of property" - didn't they literally starve out whole nations? With millions of deaths?
Also, the greed of socialism nearly caused global extinction with events at Chernobyl.


You have debunked nothing.
You didn't even address the economics at all. Just some quotes that you mostly misunderstood or tried to disprove with invalid reasoning (non-sequiturs).

Mises is right. When you choose between socialism and capitalism you do choose between social cooperation and disintegration of society. Or as Rosa Luxemburg put it "socialism or barbarism".

On Hayek's quote: Notice the operative word "wish"? You seem to neglect this word entirely, what Hayek is saying is we cannot restructure our environment in accordance with what we "wish" we could achieve. We "wish" we could make resources limitless and available instantaneously, and in fact many leftists operate under the delusion that many resources ARE limitless. And yet, the laws of nature dictate that this is not so, that man is forced to economise, and that every choice imposes an opportunity cost.
