Speaking for myself. I'm not "excited" the way I have been in years past. Not because of a coaching change at Alabama, but because of the expansion and all the NIL "stuff" and the transfer portals. It's changed so much that it seems the loyalties of a team dynamic seem to be much less. There's growth and change that is good sometimes but yet to be seen how this will affect the college football landscape. I don't see how it can make things better than they were. With such a large conference as the SEC is now it just diminishes the classics that so many of us older fans used to enjoy. Sometimes certain changes and the impact will not be known for years. You can already see the stadiums are not as full as they used to be and this may create more of the same trend. Who knows. I really hate that power and money have done this to college football. We have pro football, why not keep college football what it was so gloriously was for so many years. In my opinion the pageantry is gone now. You can see probably the best examples of college football now in small obscure colleges and universities without the big commissioners and all the money that have yet to sanitize the game and the experience.

I agree with most of your statements, but I believe along with the portal issues, the politics has got out of control but this goes hand in hand with money and how many back door deals are taking place now.
