In a fair comparison, please make sure to use an ultra-thin kerf blade on the Festool. I've already seen comparison videos that say the Festool bogs down and the Milwaukee doesn't, but they're using a thicker blade on the Festool.

Unless that saw has some crazy new features at hat price I would go with the Festool, the Festool compatible Makita, run over to Timberwolf Tools and get the Mafell which is compatible with both the Festool and Bosch track. I've used all three and am very happy.
I currently use the Festool with the default cross-cut blade and the Mafell with a rip blade for milling long boards. The Makita became a gift for my father.
I look forward to your full review.

I have the corded Makita. Very happy with it but would like to see the Milwaukee compared to the new Makita 40v cordless as I am considering getting a cordless track saw. Thank you.

As an old guy (70 yrs) the only problem I see are the batteries. I buy corded power tools because I can buy the best one for the task, unlimited run time, they are cheaper, and I do not have spend hundreds of dollars every few years to keep in power. With the price of batteries today one basically has to choose a platform and stay with or the costs get out of hand.

One still has to work with the dust cord anyway, so just band the power and dust cord together with zip ties. But, I am old and do not know any better.

I'm team red for sure, but I also root team green in the shop. Honestly the poo-poo on Festool's price I don't get. For a little more money you get two batteries and they have blue tooth built in. With MW you need the $50 hose transmitter and it can only be powered with 1 battery. Seems they are very similar in price, if not a bit more $$$ for MW. I will say, in true MW form, it looks to be a winner in its own right.

The aluminum rails are for support and also to mount the hundreds of aftermarket and third party parts sold for them. Like level mounts or cord wraps, ECT ECT. Love packout

I would like to see you go in depth on the batteries. Many reviews I watch talk about 1 or 2 batteries, volts and AH but rarely get into deep comparison of why they need 2 batteries. Would be curious to know what are the size of the batteries that come with the festool, the run time of 1 and 2 batteries, the run time of the Milwaukee with the 6.0. Just as an observation seems all the other tool companies have to have a dual battery setup to even compete with Milwaukee or change the product line every 3 or 4 years.

Don't mean to intrude on your page, I had a few people ask me if the tracksaw will fit in the ammo box (small compact 48-22-8422) packout, and I just uploaded a video. It does in-fact fit. So for those who just bought the bare tool such as myself already owning all the other accessories, this is is a very nice way to store it. :)

I can see with the festool track that it does not have the overhang to work with Milwaukee anti tip feature for when bevelling

I researched the life out of track saws before I bought mine and I went with Makita, unfortunately that saw you have is unavailable in the UK at present

I have the correct rack so it's not battery power but I still love it had it for 5 years use it all the time

For how long the took to developed the saw in my opinion they should have done a little better not reinvent the whole thing for example Bluetooth for turning the vac not sure if they already have it in other batteries

You should review the new grizzly planer jointer combo it looks like a great machine for people that dont have room for both and it fairly cheap for what you are getting if its a good machine

It's all about the batteries, no matter which tool universe you belong to.

Yeah the cost was to high. Once I saw accessory pricing I went straight to the cordless festool for only $50cdn more once you need to buy a track for the Milwaukee. The only people that should be going the Milwaukee route at this price range are the people heavily invested into the the M18 platform. Which I don’t own any

This may be a dumb question. But doesn’t the Festool come with 2 batteries because it needs 2 batteries?

“Track saw finish” is just blade for track saw, finish blade. Confused me too
