The fact that McLaughlin shows up to play with a bunch of undergrads on their big night makes him a trillion times cooler than he already was 12 years before i was born. may we all aspire to his hipness

A big thanx to McLaughlin for guiding these great young musicians! Rasika Shekar´s voice is so incredible that I gratefully call this tune "My Favorite sings".

Huge McLaughlin fan but her vocalizing on My Favorite Things steals the show. Wow.

Just when you think you can't love this man more for what he has achieved. You get this. I'm sure that these young musicians will treasure this moment for the rest of their lives.

Hate to admit this, but I never heard of John McLaughlin until this evening. I was swept away! A fan for life. This was an overwhelming experience listening to this performance.

This is just SO wonderful. What a world it is when Mahavishnu, a legend in his lifetime, can play with these talented kids and help them along...

These students, who were graduating from Berklee, were given the wonderful opportunity to play music with a seasoned musical veteran. John McLaughlin is the perfect example of an artist who has stayed in constant exploration mode throughout his long and illustrious career. Yes, there are glitches and missteps in this performance, however, overall I find the power of mentoring in this inspiring above all. Peace to all.

I liked the whole performance a lot. What I find kind of amusing is what happens at 14:40 where McLaughlin bends that "off" note and the pianist rushes to widen his harmony and suddenly it sounds inside again. That's also the point where the bass player apparently loves it the most. Magic of a live jazz performance.

Everyone's talking about My Favorite Things and not that of Stella by Starlight...I can't sleep now that I've heard that.

Proof that Music travels through time and space, regardless of sex, age, or origin. These Berklee students were very lucky to have the opportunity to play with McLaughlin, but they are also very talented, so they deserve it. Thank you for posting.
