Big Ups Backwoodz, Billy Woods, Elucid, Cavalier, Fatboi Sharif, and fam. They’re the best in the business. It’s been wonderful watching the progression over time of all these artists and their collaborations with other geniuses of the underground.

I respect you finally taking the time to review an Elucid album. He always been one of my favorites and it’s good to see him get the attention he’s always deserved.

Very solid review as well. I agree there are some skips on the back end but personally in the shadow of if and zigzagzig work really well for me. I don’t think the pitched down vocals really alter much honestly and the bars are great, and I think the closer does indeed have a standout instrumental with seriously dire vibes portrayed and ELUCID’s relentless delivery

For me personally, it’s an 8/10

In an interview on the rap music plug podcast he mentioned that slum of a disregard is actually about a recent experience where his apartment had a black mold problem putting his entire family, children included, in danger. After reaching out numerous times and being ignored by his landlord, he finally got through to get the problem fixed after three months, I think. Turns out, his landlord was on vacation in Tel Aviv for that entire time during the beginning of the onslaught on the Palestinian people last year

He sampled Gaza’s song Gristle on CCTV, I was so shocked when heard that because the track itself is so brutal and the fact it made it on a hip-hop record is so mind-blowing to me, like what, you sample some visceral hardcore and rap over over it. Damn…

You should review AKAI SOLO’s upcoming record DREAMDROPDRAGON coming out I think this Friday! He’s a brilliant experimental rapper and I feel like you’ve been sleeping on the strongest for too long. Great review as always, tho I would score it higher your analysis and opinion are intriguing and honest as per usual. Peace!

Elucid is so refreshing and talented. His song “spelling” might be my favorite rap song ever

this is niche but the album cover looks like the picture of ariel rechtshaid that vampire weekend put up as the background sometimes when they're performing live

You forgot to mention that the whole thing was inspired by Miles Davis's 'Rated X.'
