Ancient Egyptians believed death was an extension of life, and had many of the same demands. That’s why tombs like those of Tutankhamun were packed with preserved foods like dates, meat, and poultry.

Dates are a great choice for when you get the munchies in the afterlife.

Tutankhamun wasn't even that famous, his grave was just one of the only ones that wasn't robbed.

Was expecting they'll show inside the chicken-shaped case and the basket (eventhough they are already emptied)

I hope we find the tomb of Nefertiti in my lifetime. Ancient Egypt still has stories to tell.

This video literally brings me to tears with fascination. Thousands of years old food was found in a tomb. I wonder if the food will even have a taste now, or if it has no nutrition but is just like a rock. Seeing those onions and meat in their exact shape makes it just unbelievable that they are thousands of years old.

It is amazing that those food items didn't turn to dust after all that time. I wonder if they still have any flavor left in them?

Now that you've taken all of his possessions, what do you expect him to have now? 😂

It’s disrespectful to raid tombs and investigate the food on behalf of cultural enlightenment then display the body for museum display for entrance fee, especially when there isn’t anybody defending the dead posthumous and there is cultural differences from past and now. The dead need their peaceful rest, they didn’t sign up to be displayed for fee.
