Studying Geography for the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) exams, particularly the Civil Services Examination (CSE), involves a comprehensive approach given the depth and breadth of the subject. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you prepare effectively:

1. **Understand the Syllabus**: First, get a clear understanding of the Geography syllabus for both the Prelims and Mains. The Prelims focus more on general geographical concepts and physical geography, while the Mains delve deeper into Indian Geography and world geography.

2. **Standard Textbooks and Resources**:
- **NCERT Books**: Start with NCERT textbooks from Class 6 to Class 12. These provide a solid foundation.
- **Advanced Books**: For more detailed study, refer to books like 'Geography of India' by Majid Husain, 'Certificate Physical and Human Geography' by G.C. Leong, and 'World Geography' by Majid Husain.

3. **Current Affairs**: Geography-related current affairs are crucial. Regularly read newspapers and magazines, and follow trusted online sources for the latest developments in areas like environmental issues, climate change, and global geopolitics.

4. **Maps and Atlas**: Develop a strong command over maps. Use an atlas regularly to understand locations, physical features, and geopolitical changes. This is particularly important for topics like world geography, resource distribution, and environmental issues.

5. **Make Notes**: Make concise notes, especially for areas that are frequently asked in exams. This helps in quick revision.

6. **Previous Year Question Papers**: Analyze and practice previous years' UPSC questions to understand the pattern and depth of questions asked in Geography.

7. **Mock Tests and Practice**: Regularly take mock tests to assess your understanding and preparation level. Practice writing answers for Mains.

8. **Optional Subject Preparation**: If you have chosen Geography as your optional subject, you need to study it in even more depth. Focus on advanced topics and conceptual clarity.

9. **Revision**: Regular revision is key. Revisit your notes and important topics periodically.

10. **Study Groups and Discussion Forums**: Join study groups or online forums to discuss and clarify doubts. Sometimes, peer learning can provide valuable insights.

11. **Time Management**: Allocate specific time for Geography preparation and stick to your schedule.

12. **Seek Guidance**: If necessary, consider joining a coaching institute or seek guidance from mentors who have cleared the exam.

Remember, Geography for UPSC is not just about memorizing facts but understanding concepts and being able to apply them in a current context. Stay updated, practice regularly, and maintain a balanced approach in your preparation.

The best term is bhugol . Bhugol mean land which is sphere . In our solar system all celestial bodies are sphere. So we can call Prithvi ka bhugol, Mangal ka bhugol and so on
