Bommer offers a wide variety of horizontal spring pivot hinges. These hinges come in various configurations which we will describe below. This video will focus on the horizontal steel spring pivots that hold up to 90 lbs. These hinges are ideal for large full height doors. What makes the Bommer 7800 series different from traditional Saloon Door double action hinges? They allow for full height doors with minimal gaps. Hinges are recessed into the door for a clean incorporated look. These Hinges do require extra steps to prep the doors and/or door jamb. These Bommer Horizontal Spring Pivot Hinge allows the door to be open in either direction, self return to center and Offers adjustable spring tension allowing for a faster or slower return of the doors. Max door width is 36" wide. Fits doors 1-3/8" to 1-3/4" thick. Maximum door weight is 90 lbs. All Hinges are available in these finishes: Primed, Gloss Black, Zinc, Bright Brass, Satin Brass, Satin Nickel, Satin Chrome, Satin Bronze - Oil Rubbed Bronze and Satin Bronze- Blackened Finish.The difference between the three 7800 hinges are the bottom and top mounting options. The third grouping is the 7818 and 7819:The bottom pivot assembly mounts to the door frame (Jamb) or floor mountThe top pivot assembly only mounts to the door frame (Jamb) The Bommer 7818 hinge offers a hold open feature at 75-90 degrees. The non-hold open version is a Bommer 7819. When ordering you choose either jamb or floor mount for the bottom hinge. The top hinge is ONLY a jamb mount and requires a 3” gap from the header.
