My dad was a sales manager at Toyota in Saudi Arabia, and as a kid, I loved tagging along with him to work. He’d often ask his team to take me for a spin in the 70 Land Cruiser, especially the iconic pickup version. Back then, it was known as the Desert Ship! an absolute beast on the dunes! It's amazing to see Toyota reconnecting with their roots and bringing back that legendary spirit!

This is the only one we get in Africa. The possibilities are endless. It also can double as a tractor if you get the inline 6 Diesel. It's probably the toughest consumer car out there because of the lack of digital components which tend to fail if you beat it up the way we do.

The previous generation 70 series came with a 4.5L single turbo V8 diesel which made the same power as the new 2.8L but it sounds awesome. These 4x4s are very popular in Aus

Keeping it simple. That's what car companies need to prioritize again. I don't want a damn tablet or flat screen. I just want amazing driving dynamics, a good speaker system and a reliable, tried and true powertrain.

70 series is still a king in South Africa, the older V8 Diesel was blessed with great torque. The newer 2.8 GD-6 with the auto is no slouch either.
