Since the day i put the engine in it has made this noise. The motor runs strong and is not down on power, nor is it low on oil pressure. I need a straight forward answer on what this noise is.

Easy fix! Just turn the music up all the way every time you drive and that noise will magically go away!

Yes, its the Rocker Arms, Just adjust them again.

Check your rocker arms by removing the valve cover. Wiggle each one there shouldn't be an movement what so ever. If there is in one or several then you have worn rocker arms they got lash in them.

Double check your spark plugs, make sure the gaps not closed and make sure they're not too tight. Those hydraulic lifters are not adjustable.

I'm going through the samething, I've been told it was a header exhaust leak, bad lifter, collector gasket leak, rod bearing bad, rocker loose, Converter bolts loosened .. Smh lol they all sound the same, no one can tell you what it is your gonna have to do process of eliminating, best advice..

It's kind of hard to tell by the video but if it's coming from the top it's more likely out of rocker but if it's coming from the bottom that's where you might want to start to worry a little bit more, it's really a process of elimination, unfortunately you're going to have to at least open up the top and and see what's going on with the Rockers and lifters

sounds like it's coming from the top end, something to do with cams i would say

not being negative or anything but it could also be piston slap

It can be a hydraulic lifter, Id advise to through in a hydraulic lifter oil before doing any serious stripping. Had the same noise before. Worked like a charm.

It could be a timing chain guide. A plastic one was prone to cracking on these engines. but depends whats done to the engine.

All most sounded like rod knock a few times but rod knock is pretty damn loud this also sounds like it's at the top.

I know when my cam was worn out on a sr20vet engine I bought had the same noise...I re made shims and installed another set of sr20vet cams and the engine was silent again.

Yup. Definitely the valve train. On rev the ticking noise didnt follow in rhythm.

Definitely not rods. It sounds like it's coming from the top. Check timing chain guides and tensioners as well if it's not rockers.

Does the sr20 have hydraulic lash adjusters? Sounds similar to my 1g 4g63 which had issues with lash adjusters getting stuck

I went and looked at a Honda I was interested in buying, and I gave the engine some revs from the engine bay and noticed it had this noise, but only when it idled down from revving. I don't know if I should buy the car. I was afraid it was gonna throw a rod on me later down the road. I told the guy if he fixed it, then I would give him an extra $100. Btw it's a b18 with a b20 head.
