This sounds like a case of acronym overload.

Why is this posted on the day I started my PM and R rotation ? 😂

I love my physiatrist, I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and he really helps because he looks at me as a whole body not just an individual part.

I'm a PM&R doc. Great on misconceptions about our little known specialty. Heard them all before. Probably out of context for the video but "pain medicine and rehabilitation" and my favorite "Plenty of Money & Relaxation", jokingly of course!

I LOVE how you find fun ways to explain things a lot of people aren't aware of!

I recently went to physical medicine and rehabilitation and I swear this is the most positive experience I've ever had with a doctor! She talked with me about my symptoms and tested my joints and said I probably have hypermobile EDS, which explains a lot.

I love PM&R, 13 year TBI/Stroke RN and now I'm an Acute Care Liaison for Rehab, totally under appreciated- thanks for this!

Wish I knew about this specialty when my mom had a stroke two years ago; she’s really struggled to work towards being able to function afterwards.

I love these guest skits. Not only are they hilarious but, they are also very educational. I've learned about fields of medicine I never knew existed. I just wanted to say your content is thoughtful, funny, and helpful. Thank you for all the work you put into them!

I work in a neurology clinic with PM&R docs. Ours are super sweet and so helpful to patients! They're very underappreciated and I'm glad you gave them a shout-out.

Having worked as a provider at a quaternary stroke referral center for a 5 state area with a nationally recognized spinal rehab center just down the street, PM&R docs are wonderful for these situations. Thank you for you help!

It's breaking my brain a bit to realize just how absurdly good Doc Schmidt's acting is. He does collabs with people who are delightful and doing a fantastic job and yet he always stands out a bit because there's so many utterly perfect microexpressions, mannerisms, changes in inflection and tone... his expression is so perfectly communicative in so many tiny little ways from sentence to sentence... guy can quit his day job and start acting any time.
...
And I hope he shows up for his Oscar in a cheap wig.

Well done. As A PA who worked in PM&R had this conversation more times then I can count. Nice education skit.

Thanks Dr. Nicolet and Dr. Schmidt, this made me laugh! As an acute care PT I had almost this exact conversation with a medical resident when I requested that they place a PM&R consult for a patient with a new cervical spinal cord injury.

Physiatrists are amazing! A life changer for me. Worked in healthcare for 30 years & had never heard of a Physiatrist. Now I tell people about them all the time. Great one! 👍🏼

So funny. This happens all the time with patients at my hospital.

Ooh, nice twist at the end! The whole time I thought you were needing a respiratory consult lol

I love the portrayal of people inside the hospital not knowing all the departments and specialties in the hospital.

This specialty is known as rehabilitation medicine in Malaysia and we called the specialists rehabilitation physicians. Much easier☺️
