There are 128 max elements not 8. Some presets show many more than 8 elements as you can see when observing them.

The SY 77/99 FM is still the boss of FM because you can not only choose 16 different FM waveforms to choose from, but you also get two inputs on every operator… one can be used to bring in AWM waveforms to modulate any operator And then use the other input (any input) to choose where you want the feedback loop!… cop that! This (to this day) is why it’s called “Advanced Frequency Modulation” AFM. I don’t know why Yamaha dropped this technology. Serious programmers only. 😉

Can this thing really do anything in terms of sound design? Thats what people write in the forums. Can it do virus, moog sub37, waldorf iridium, etc?
