The beautiful Lake Maggiore is the second largest Italian lake after Lake Garda. It stretches across the territories of Italy and Switzerland. A little less crowded than Lake Como and Lake Garda, Lake Maggiore offers peaceful and spectacular scenery, majestic palaces, gorgeous villas and hotels.
The pearl of Lake Maggiore are the fabulous Borromean Islands and the pretty town of Stresa. Other beautiful places worth visiting are Cannobio, Cannero, Villa Taranto and Pallanza. In the Swiss part the major places are Locarno and Ascona.
