Показать описание
The Lesser Scaup is an abundant, widespread North American duck. It migrates in small numbers to the Hawaiian Islands and is consistently reported every year from wetlands around the state. It has a narrow black head with a high crown that appears angular or peaked. In good light the head of males often has a purple gloss. The small, thin bill has a small black button, or nail, at the tip. The sides are mottled gray that appears all white or gray from a distance.
