Honduras earthquake Today | Magnitude 5.3 earthquake hits La Ceiba | August 2nd, 2022

A magnitude 5.3 earthquake near La Ceiba, Departamento de Atlantida, Honduras, was reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), considered one of the key international agencies that monitor seismic activity worldwide.
The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 km beneath the epicenter in the morning on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022, at 9:17 am local time.
A second report was later issued by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), which listed it as a magnitude 4.9 earthquake as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 4.9.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Tela, located 68 km from the epicenter, Coxen Hole, 84 km away, Roatan Town, 84 km away, Baracoa, 87 km away, San Juan Pueblo, 88 km away, Puerto Cortés, 89 km away, and La Ceiba, 89 km away.
