I need to relearn this and then just commit this to muscle memory once and for all. I remember hearing it for the first time my senior year of high school from y guitar teacher. It blew me away! Then in college, I asked my college professor if he knew "La Catedral". He didn't know what that was. A couple of years later, HE PLAYS IT! I said, "THAT's the piece!". He didn't know what I was talking about. Also, he knew the piece as "The Cathedral". I learned all 3 movements, Years later, I became a guitar teacher and had the opportunity to work back at the same store I took lessons from and my teacher was still teaching there. We were actually collegues! Sometimes, we had a break at the same time, I'd ask him if he could show me something. MAN! I felt like a 17 year old kid again. Even with my "BA in Music", he whooped my ass. He was still the master. I also played this for me him and he told me I was playing it wrong. I was like, WHAT?!" I played what was in the score. Well the score was wrong. Correct notes, wrong position. Another lesson. Anyway, I played it the way he showed me, (which was what you see in this video) and it flowed so much better. A few years later, my teacher passed away. All f his former students went to his memorial and then wen to his house. It became a celebration of his life with good food, stories, and we all played music for each other. I played "La Catedral" and "Differencias De Guardame Las Vacas".

What is impressive is that you can play it with least emotion possible to keep this instructive. It is quite nice effort to play such great piece with such stability! Thank you forever <3

If you feel like somethings too hard, think about the hardest thing you can play. You had that same feeling then, but you CAN learn it.

I think La Catedral is the most impressive piece I've ever seen performed on this channel - Got DAYUM~ I appreciate the way Sky Guitar approaches how to play the guitar. I'm a visual learner and observing how and where you place your hands for smooth and quick chord changes that classical guitar requires helps out a lot. A lot of other channels rarely ever play the piece in its entirety before they teach you and usually talk wayyy too much every measure I don't have the patience for that lol. Great job!

@Sky Guitar Omg, I don't even know what to say regarding your mastery of the guitar! This was simply perfection. This is right there with Recuerdos de la Alhambra and others at that level. You can perform those pieces with so much control, power, and emotion is just unbelievable.
Please, keep those classical pieces coming, My Esteemed Guitar Maestro!

Note: Please accept this humble contribution, and thank you!!!

I loved learning this no. 3 & no. 1 in the past. No. 1 was all about control & very subtle, no. 3 was very stamina demanding. Had to build it up over time. No. 2 I never had the music to learn it over the years. Will enjoy learning no. 2 & the other two pieces again. Loved learning villa lobos studies & pieces by jorge morel also. Truly beautiful music for guitar. Well executed & beautifully played as always. A true gift to us guitarists out there. Many pieces have inspired me over the years & these are among the ones I loved

At normal speed this is 6 stars, the most beautiful guitar piece imo. Glad you did the video

sky guitar manages to give you a plain representation of the piece, no extras, no huge flow, digestable rythm and speed. It makes it so i can concentrate on learning the notes and technique and then i go and learn the flow by listening to god level virtuosos, which without shame, sky guitar can not provide.

He basically avoids teaching you anything wrong. Its really genius, and his playing is still extremely clean and presentable. Absolute legend of a teacher.

And to be fair, ghost hands would have to grind some songs forever, and we would have to wait forever to get em. 😂

Un merci de Paris, ce compositeur que seul les musiciens rendent hommage en France, a pas un documentaire sur ce personnage important dans la musique ou on débutait les enregistrements

It's really impressive how good the fingering in this piece is. It sounds very hard, but it actually feels easier to play than it looks. Barrios was a true genius of the instrument. He could take advantage of the guitar's characteristics and nuances like nobody else.

I really appreciate this channel. If I had a dollar for every time I’ve bothered to write out on manuscript, the tab from some other channel, just to realize I wasted my time and the music is wrong — clickbait — I’d have probably $20 and three wasted manuscript books (I do in fact have 3 full manuscripts of wrong tab I got off of YouTube).
