My initial feeling is that Chidi is being honest and genuine but Rayne is being delusional. My husband is Igbo (Chidi is surely Igbo, I can tell by his name) And the foolishness Rayne is acting out will 💯 be a deal breaker.

They take marriage very seriously because divorce is not acceptable so they are extremely cautious about who they marry and Rayne's behaviour will be a HUGE red flag.
