I'm Peruvian, they filmed this in good weather. God bless and protect these brave drivers🙏, risking their lives every single day to feed their families. People die every month in those country roads with bad weather, fog, rain, landslides, the entire bus tips overs and everyone inside dies going over a precipice. I remember those cross country bus rides, passengers have to help out when the bus breaks down, engine overheats or wheel gets stuck in mud for hours. People in those remote communities are desperate to go to a nearby hospitals or schools or weddings. It's a lifeline. Makes me tear up how hard people in my country work, Glorioso probably makes just enough to cover his gas and a little more but not enough for the risks he's taking.

Oh, Latin America. Especially in Peru and Colombia, where the bus driver will get on the bus, greet everyone with the warmest, most cordial greeting you’ll only receive in Latin America, and then proceed to drive like he’s trying to kill everyone on board. 🤣

I was in such a bus in Peru during the summer of 2016. The steering wheel had a bronze plate carrying the inscription "Dios es mi co-piloto". By the end of the 6 hour journey I did not doubt it.

I was on the other side of this in Bolivia. I don’t think I ever prayed that long and hard in my life 😂 My advice to any tourists who do decide on this voyage: Do not look off the side.

Routes all across Tibet are like this. I was an ESL teacher in Lhasa. Two days before flying in to start the semester, I was visiting Chengdu and met a young British couple who were backpacking across China. At the time, Tibet was only allowing foreigners with work permits to enter. The British couple were very keen to get there but were not going to get into Tibet via air travel. About a week later, I ran into them at one of the hotels. They both looked like they had been thrown off a mountain. Sure enough, they had. They found some commuter bus that routinely border crossed for the local Han and Tibetans. It went off the road and drove/rolled 50 feet down into river below. They were the only two to survive out of the 18 passengers and the driver that were killed by drowning. They both escaped through the bus window they were seated by while the bus was sinking.

Why did I know it was Peru only from the thumbnails 😅 I remember sitting in the first row of the bus (we took a paved road in the Andes in a location where fog covers the road at night) when the driver turned on the lights that showed the fog. Everything went white. So, he switched it to low lights and had to basically drive out of memory. I learned never to sit in the first row again.

I start using at work too:
"Better to arrive a little later in this job, than early in the next"

Hats off to this guy, seriously, I wonder where is this path and why do they need to travel here?
