The song "Imela" by Steve Crown is about thanksgiving to God. The song begins with Steve declaring that God is the reason for his living, is the air he breathes and God's Spirit covers all the Earth. Genesis 2:7 The Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living creature. Psalm 33:6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of His mouth. The song continues with the lyrics "From the ends of the Earth to the depth of the sea, You are mighty in Your works, we exalt Thee in our worship, God of all the Earth, Alpha and Omega. Adonai, we bow before Thee" Steve uses these lyrics to describe the greatness of God. In addition the words Chukwu Uwanile, which means God who never fails, Onyezoputa Eh (saviour) and Odighi onyedikagi (king of kings) are used with the word Imela (thank you) in front. These lyrics expresses Steve's thanks to God for Who He is and requests God to accept his praise. The song concludes with the lyrics " Your majesty, Lord we bow, our Father, Isi Yi Nke Ndu (we worship You) You're bigger than what people say, mighty Father, we give you all the praise, Abba Father. These lyrics are used to express Steve's reverence of God's greatness and his relationship to Him as Heavenly Father and his thankfulness to God.
