Website Speed Optimization – OMG! I Got Scammed!!!

Website speed optimization is becoming a very hot topic for all website owners. Running a slow website will impact not only overall user experience but also your google rankings since speed is a ranking factor.
Unfortunately, some unscrupulous people will take advantage of the situation and promise to optimize your site speed to the max, sadly they are not genuine.
In this video I am showing you how I was a the victim of one of those so called website speed optimization experts, and how you can avoid falling into their hands.

Great video as always.
I helped build our companies website many years ago now and I kept banging on about speed even back then.
The developers hated me, but I knew it was important due to what google had said. We eventually got good scores back then, but as time has moved on so has Googles standards and its slowly been slipping (goal posts move).
I was supposed to do a full rebuild of the site this year, but Covid stopped that.
Love your videos, they are easy to understand, no wonder you are doing so well

Fantastic post. I too am delving into page rank speed optimization as a site developer. It is a fascinating subject has many moving parts.

Recently it has become such an issue as over 70% of site views are from mobile that a new crop of hosting providers are emerging to address this issue.

Hi, thanks for the video. Yes, there are a lot of scammers doing the same or similar things. I just run your website again and I see the mobile score is 62. That's because of plugin cost calculator builder that is not used on your front page but loads a lot of CSS. In order to make mobile fast and high score you need to reduce all amount of CSS and JS under 500kb, your client's website has 3.8MB. What most people don't get that mobile is tested on slower connection and simulated a slower CPU to process the data. That's a bottleneck you can't control, so the only way to get fast on mobile is to reduce overall JS/CSS. I hope that helps.
