FTB Skies Ep. 6 Compact Machine Base Upgrade

Welcome to my FTB Skies modpack let's play, a thrilling adventure in the skyblock world with an exciting array of quests and challenges to complete. As I join you on this journey, I'll first show you around the starter islands, each with its unique features and resources.

After the tour, I'll choose a starter island that I have built for everyone to enjoy. This starter island will be designed to provide all the necessary resources and tools to survive and thrive in the skyblock world. From there, I'll embark on a quest to explore the various dimensions, gather resources, and build my own custom islands.

Throughout the let's play, I'll be working on completing the various quests that are available in the modpack. These quests will challenge me to use my skills and creativity to accomplish specific objectives and earn rewards.

I'll also be interacting with the different mods included in the FTB Skies modpack, experimenting with new tools, weapons, and magical items. With so many mods to explore, I'll have plenty of opportunities to learn new things and discover exciting new ways to play.

FYI Chosen, the Laser IO insert/extract channel colors are in the bottom left of the card interface and the Redstone control channel colors are the ones you pointed out.

You can get rid of the auto-hammers by just giving a pedestal a hammer like you did with the silk touch shovel for gravel. It will then generate dust/crushed version of whatever you need directly on the pedestal

This is a bit into the mod, but Ars Noveau has an "Amethyst Golem" that creates budding amethyst and harvests the crystals for you!

Stone cutter can help you convert your single block of end stone into end stone bricks.

You can obtain soul soil just by making a campfire using soul sand and then breaking it. It drops soul soil.

Hey Chosen, I think every overclocker increases the available operation on each side by 1. That way you can use all 9 on each side by putting in the 8 overclocker cards. 1 to start with zero cards, and 9 after 8 add on cards (1+8).

Love LaserIO mod, its quite useful. Kinda wish someone would whisper into Dire's ear that it would be cool if the card holder had a slot for the tool (to save space AND not misplace that thing) and a quick way to clear the settings on previously used cards (some little slot to put them that clears the settings then moves them back into a stack of the blank ones if there is OR a free slot if not).

Oh yes, I love to build structures while playing modpacks. Usually the start is a mess but when I get ae2 set up, and it needs some infrastructure, the building will be there for sure!

I once had to pretty much make my base in Compact Machines once. For whatever reason, Minecraft was not liking my Linux setup. I would lag like crazy in the overworld and Nether, and forget about visiting the Betweenlands, that was a 1 fps slideshow, and that was with every thing lowered/turned off that I could. No idea what was going on with that.

Anyway, I had probably 8 to 12 giant CMs each with their own thing inside. The main one stored my Refined Storage setup. One CM dealt with the crafting multiblock thing (pattern storage or whatever it is I can't remember) One was for nothing but power, using EnderIO stuff. Two had the Chickens Resource mod in them, producing ungodly amounts of resources. One was a Tree farm. One or two was farms. Thank goodness for those pass-thru's and EnderIO conduits <3

It was an amazing setup. I actually went to try it again sometime later with a newer version of MC and I guess the CM creator made it where beds would explode inside. I can't remember if that was the case the first time I tried, could have sworn I had a bed in it.

Anyway, I'd like to try a Compact Machine base again... But Skyblock/Skies/etc just really isn't my thing. They can be fun, but I like exploring and travelling 100's of thousands of blocks in any direction, so Skyblock gets boring for me really fast :(

Just to let you know, the reason you can only put 8 node overclockers in a laser io node is because 1 slot is already working, each overclocker you put in makes another slot work at the same time, so 8 overclockers makes all 9 slots work at the same time

LaserIO is awesome, and yes, you can do 9 x 64 per tick. The first card doesnt need an overclocker as it's always enabled ;)

ok, big tip for those starting inside the compact machine or those who chose to later build a base inside one, don't worry about a bed in there, it goes boom...

finally, I wanna say that I love the way you can disable all the events if you want and still make progress because there are a number of ways to obtain every item in the game, I absolutely love that fact. I personally disable the mimic chests, sticks, tea messages and ender mites. I don't like hostile things spawning on my head and pushing me off my island or killing me outright, and random sticks are just plain irritating.

I'm currently playing ATM8. I built a Nordic style large house and I was going to build a ton of out buildings but then I got a wild hair. I'm digging out a 25x19 space under the house to bedrock. There will be floors, each 5 blocks from floor to ceiling for storage, farms et al. I'm using elevator blocks to travel between floors.
