Sco is twisted like a corkscrew . His phrasing is unreal .

Can't believe how skilled Louis Cato is. Jungle Fiction solo is crazy good. Now he's leading the Colbert tonight show band on CBS. So cool. Happy for him.

Andy Hess has the perfect bass tone here!

I remember the first time I heard Tomorrow Land... I was 19 at the time, the year the album came out, up late in bed listening to a French language jazz radio program I somehow could pick up in Blaine, WA. It's such a beautiful bass line, soothing, nostalgic, contemplative, and somehow kind yet melancholic (my own personal emotional response.) I couldn't understand the announcer's French afterwards but I heard "John Scofield" and "Uberjam" and later found the CD at a public library in San Jose CA... what an incredible overall album and song in particular. Thanks Sco and crew, it's really been a great friend to have.

First track "Boogie Stupid" sounds like Jimmie Vaughan on acid. Great stuff! Thanks.

Its also interesting to note that Sco's guitar tone on Tele sounds very similar to his beloved Ibanez, just with more bite and twang. Further proof that its the skill and expertise of the craftsman rather than the tools he uses that creates the beautiful piece of art...the art in this case being live music.

The drummer, alone, is enough to put any music enthusiast into a trance. Fantastic. John Scofield and the other two are a wonderful "overdose."

man this sounds GREAT for live sound. kudos to the engineer. ... and of course the frickin amazing musicians on stage.

I love the little child-like melody lines he throws in now and then - before letting rip weaving in and outside of the scale through intervallic hoops of flame-grilled jazz-fusion

Went to HS w/ Scofield and also studied with the same guitar teacher, Alan Deane, who seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth but was an awesome teacher. Scofield had a fusion band then called Simple Truth, which did some Blood, Sweat and Tears covers (all I can remember). He was always excellent. I never knew him as a beginner lol.
