You know what I'm about to say they said the same thing in the late 60's early 70's... How can we afford to spend money on space exploration right now? The country is in serious debt. COVID, wars, trade, student loan forgiveness, unemployment forever + $800 bonus, homelessness... And the list goes on and on.
