Former Vice President Mike Pence is confronted by an Iowa voter on his handling of the Electoral College count on January 6th. "The Constitution is very clear...affords no authority...to reject votes or return votes to the states...I'm sorry ma'am, but that's actually what the Constitution says. No vice president in American history ever asserted the authority that you have been convinced that I had."

Mind boggling there was no reaction to that ladies question, which suggests they all still agree the election was stolen😁🙃🤡

Does she really believe that VP Kamala Harris has the power to reject the state of Iowa votes in 2024?

On January 6, Pence decided he shouldn’t continue in office. Let’s support his decision and keep it that way! May he enjoy a long retirement.

And if she believes he had that authority as VP of the US, ask her if Kamala Harris currently has that authority and watch how fast she starts equivocating!

The ignorance of the first woman speaking is astounding. She needs to go back and take a high school government class.

I totally agree with that lady that confronted him. And did you see or listen to how he explained his excuses away for doing what he did?

"Let me just say this, I don't think all those people yelling 'Hang Mike Pence!' where really there to hug me."

It’s so fascinating to hear the clapping when he asserts that he did not have the power she claims he has in the beginning of his response, but then listen as he asserts that Trump was wrong .. one awkward clap, looks around the room from the group. Rule #1 of a cult: don’t criticize your leader.

"I believe we should have 'Voter ID' in every State."
(Quoted or paraphrased)

So: is this a belief that the Federal government should "issue" such an ID?
Or a suggestion that the Fed Gov should pass an Act requiring each State to create and certify "Voter ID" programs?

OR a wish that "States' Rights" reserves that concept to "the Several States"?

Pence sounds sincere but: "where's the meat?" ~ and how should Driver's license or "State-issued ID" be incorporated?

I have my DL ~ I realize some percentage don't. States can make it easy to verify and issue such "proof" ~ or they can make it difficult and costly, to inhibit marginalized voter participation.

Are "you" satisfied your State is making voting easy(!) for boosting legitimate voter participation?

Otherwise you're smugly aware that your State is trying hard to prevent eligibles from voting, and might even support it.

Some States have recently reduced "ID centers" to make it costly (travel & time); some states are banning voting on college campuses.

Those States are not pursuing good policy; they're only preserving majorities.
