North Bali - Heaven on Earth - This is the bali you want to see
Bali isn't only about beautiful beaches and sunset cocktails. This paradise island is home to stunning waterfalls too..
If walking through dense jungle, clambering over rocks and ducking under lush green canopies is your idea of fun, then hunting for Bali’s hidden waterfalls needs to be on your Bali bucket list. Luckily for us adventurous souls, Bali is home to more than 16 of these hidden treasures, many of which are off the beaten track and unbeknownst to the tourist crowds.
1.Gitgit Waterfall – The most legendary waterfall in Bali
One of the most popular and beautiful waterfalls in Bali is Gitgit. Cascading down from a height of 35 meters, it is a spectacular fall, surrounded by lush green forests. Located between Bedugul and Singaraja, this Gitgit waterfall can be reached by a small hike. People travelling to Lovina beach, make a stopover here at Gitgit falls. It plunges down to a small pool, guarded by a shrine.
2. Munduk Waterfalls: The Hidden Paradise
Munduk Waterfalls locally known as Air Terjun Munduk are among Bali’s most scenic, located within Bali’s lush and forested central-northern highland region in the village of Munduk in Buleleng, North Bali.
3. Sekumpul Waterfall – A mesmeric sight
Sekumpul Waterfall is every nature lovers delight. Known as one of the best waterfalls in Bali, Sekumpul is a cluster of 6 to 7 narrow cascades, plunging down from an average height of 80 metres. Surrounded by lush green bamboo woods, this waterfall is reached by a moderately challenging trek, on the route to Lovina Beach.
Tourists can enjoy the breathtaking view of 7 cascades from the top while those who love adventure, can enjoy the hike by crossing small streams and trekking down. Moreover, this is one of the best swimming waterfalls in Bali, so you can dive into the plunge pool to chill out and unwind, as well.
4. ULUN DANU BERATAN TEMPLE BALI (The Lake Temple)
You have come to Bali wanting to see all the beautiful temples you have seen on Instagram and not sure which ones to visit. Let me tell you about Ulun Danu Beratan Temple (aka Pura Ulun Danu Bratan Temple). There are some pretty special Balinese temples to visit on your Bali trip and I think that Ulun Danu Beratan Temple should be one of them if you can fit it into your itinerary.
5. Handara Golf & Resort Bali is a mountain golf resort located near Bedugul with a world-class difference. The first golf & country club resort to open in Bali was voted by Golf Magazine as 'One of the 50 Greatest Golf Courses in the World.’ Course founder, Ibnu Sutowo (1914-2001) named it after his youngest daughter, Handara. The Ibnu Sutowo Senior Open is held at the course every year in memory of Ibnu’s remarkable legacy.
What makes Handara Golf so unique is its location in the central highlands of Bali, at an altitude of 1,142 meters above sea level, making it the coolest golf course in Bali with temperatures ranging from 14 to 24 Celsius. Nestled inside the crater of an extinct volcano, the views offer lush green mountains, crater lakes, and equatorial rain forests. The abundance of natural beauty creates scenic backdrops for a round at one of the best golf courses in Bali. There is also a driving range, a practice pitching area, and two practice putting greens to warm up before your game.
This amazing Balinese temple is located about 1200 metres above sea level in Lake Beratan. Pretty much in the middle of Bali. This entire area is full of natural beauty.
