SpaceX makes history with first all-civilian crew launched into orbit

Elon Musk's SpaceX venture has launched an all-civilian spaceflight in the first attempt at orbit around the Earth without a professional crew of astronauts. It's the first crew in history made up of nonprofessional astronauts. The successful launch marked the most ambitious leap yet in space tourism.

Before all the comments about 'why are we doing this when we could be doing other things with that money', I think people should know the context of this mission. This mission was planned with the purpose of raising money and awareness for tackling childhood cancer, specifically for St Judes childrens research hospital. The launch cost the bloke who financed it $50 million, the donation he made to St Judes cost him $100 million and the mission has so far raised an additional $50 million plus on top of that towards a total fundraising goal of $200 million.

I don't know why I'm the one who's giving you this context, I guess the Guardian thinks that putting the context of the mission in the video would drive down views.
