S. Korea to spend almost US$ 300 million to upgrade its Apache attack helicopters

육군 '아파치' 헬기 더 세진다… 내년부터 4천억원 투입해 성능개량

Starting next year,... the nation's Army will spend almost 300 million U.S. dollars to enhance combat capabilities of Apache attack helicopters.
The project is expected to be completed by 2027.
The upgrades will add tactical data links to the choppers,... and buy additional fire control radar systems.
Currently the systems are on just a few of the 36 Apaches deployed in early 2017.
As for the tactical data links, an official from the arms procurement agency said they will be equipped with Link 16,... the same military network system used by the U.S. and NATO allies.
