The future of guitar pedals? Source Audio One Series L.A. LADY & KINGMAKER

Показать описание
In this episode of Vox Friendly Pedals, we are looking at two offerings from Source Audio, the Kingmaker Fuzz and the L.A. Lady Overdrive pedals. Now, the concept behind these pedals is very interesting: the L.A. Lady and Kingmaker, as well as the After Shock, are essentially all the same pedals. They have different names and different paint jobs, but they are exactly the same.

The reasoning behind this is that Source Audio ships each pedal out with three presets, the L.A. Lady has the Smooth (TS9), the crunch (tube overdrive) and Classic (Marshall in a box) as it's stock preset. The Kingmaker has the Octavia, Normal (fuzz face) and Heavy (Big Muff Pie).

The interesting thing is that you can load any preset you want to either pedals. You could upload the same presets from the Kingmaker to the L.A. Lady and vice versa. In fact, via the Neuro App, you have access to over 50+ presets from the Factory, as well as many others made by members of the Source Audio community.

We'll be exploring some of these pedals capabilities, from bass, stereo rig to the Rat II and Fulltone OCD emulations.

I have a dedicated Source Audio board with the Neuro Hub and a small MIDI controller. A compressor, a boost and four SA pedals:
LA Lady, Gemini Chorus, Vertigo Tremolo, Nemesis Delay. It's a great little board that can do so much, mono or stereo, with amps or DI.
Source Audio is good stuff.

Good video. I was waiting for this one. I’ve had my eye on these pedals for a while and I think I’m sold. Going to pick up one this week I think.

I’ve tried the Strymon Sunset and the Boss OD-200. They were both good but still not delivering what I wanted. The low price and tweak-ability of these units seems like a really good combo. Plus, I already own the Source Audio Collider and it’s a quality piece of hardware. So I have no doubt these are great pedals.

One of the best reviews on these pedals. You should try their Atlas compressor with the bass distortion presets.

I was really waiting on this one... Not that many demos on YouTube for those pedals, certainly not in combination with a Vox AC15.

For me I have only experienced one digital emulation of a fuzz face that had that kind of dynamic give and take. How is that part of the fuzz face on the kingmaker?

Does it have the same responsiveness as the pedal it's modeled after, does the Fuzz Face model clean up with the volume rolled off?

Check out Source Audio’s True Spring reverb pedal. It’s awesome and has tremolo to boot.

Only experience I have with Source Audio is the Collider, it slays! And while it is awesome that they sent you these pedals, they don't interest me in the slightest. Cheers.
