I have been searching for this song for at least 8 or 9 years, but I could never find it because when I was a kid my english wasn't good, so I didn't understand what he was saying. I heard it on the radio yesterday, so here I am now. Glad I finally found it.

You're getting older
Your journey's been
Etched on your skin

Simona
Wish I had known that
What seemed so strong
Has been and gone

[Chorus:]
I would call you up every sunday night
And we both stayed out 'til the morning light
And we sang, "Here we go again"
Here we go again"
And though time goes by
I will always be
In a club with you
In 1973
Singing "Here we go again"
Here we go again"

Simona
Wish I was sober
So I could see clearly now
The rain has gone

Simona
I guess it's over
My memory plays our tune
The same old song

[Chorus x3]

And though time goes by
I will always be
In a club with you
In 1973

This song is best played on a summer night as you are driving with the windows down and not a care in the world. This song is timeless!

I'm 53 and the lyrics of this song always make me think of times gone by and a few regrets and missed opportunities. Absolutely love this song though. James Blunt is such a good song writer/singer..

He sings because he has nostalgia and I have nostalgia from hearing nostalgia.

Still one of the most underrated artists I've heard. Discovered his music 6 years ago and fell in love immediately. Learned them all, sang them all, all the albums. Amazing.

Riding my bicycle, this tune comes on my little iPod Shuffle, my earplugs are in and I'm riding along singing out loud because I know all the words and I don't care who hears me...and then I will hit replay and do it all over again. Wow, I love this song, such feeling in this one!

“What seems so strong, has been and gone”
that line hits hard.

As the son of a single mother, I grew up in the '70s, navigating life as a latchkey kid. My mother, a timeless beauty, and I shared precious moments together, some spent watching classics like the Love Boat and Fantasy Island, while on other nights, she would dazzle at the disco with her friends. Witnessing her dressing up for those nights filled me with excitement and admiration; she exuded a captivating aura that made her a joy to be around. Being her son was an absolute honor.

Years passed, and we ended up living in different cities until 2006. Then, that life-altering call came - she had been diagnosed with cancer. All she desired was to spend her final months with me, and without hesitation, I made my way to her side. One evening, as she lay in her bed, and I sat in the family room, James Blunt performed this soulful song on SNL. It struck a chord deep within me, and immediately after, I downloaded the song. I took it to her bedside, and together, we listened. Tears welled up as we hugged, feeling the profound connection between the lyrics and our own journey. We knew that time was slipping away.

One month later, she left this world, leaving an indelible void in my heart. Even now, whenever that song finds its way to my ears, the floodgates of emotions open, and I find myself crying, reminiscing about the incredible woman who was my mother.
