[SFM Ponies] Confrontation

Well, this took longer than expected. Soon as I heard the song back in November when someone in the mlp topic on the gamefaqs cartoon board linked it I knew had to animate it. I wanted it to have more of a stage play feel to it, hence the simplicity (though not fully done as a play), as tribute to original work. Thought it would be a nice Christmas present. lol Didn't know what I was getting myself into. But here it is and I hope you enjoy it.

And it has now passed 5 million. *faints*

Song is a cover of Confrontation from the Jekyll and Hyde broadway musical original written Frank Wildhorn and Leslie Bricusse. Based on the novel The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson.

The end credits is one of the instrumental versions of the song.

PTE Jack helped me with Luna's reversed mane (by helped I mean he showed me how to do reversable manes in blender and in the process made it and gave it too me. Hope I can remember how to do it the next time I need one. lol)

At first I thought this was an original song like "Lullaby for a Princess" until I discovered the musical "Jekyll and Hide" which has sense became one of my favorite musicals aside from "Wicked" and "Phantom of the Opera".

Surprised with the quality of the singing. The whole shouting-while-singing is very hard to accomplish, I've found. It puts great strain on the voice and makes it harder to hold notes, especially high-pitched ones. Bravo to whoever sang this, and nice animation work, too.

This is one of my favorite animations. Not just because it's good quality, but because of some of the little things. I adore the use of Luna's wings expressively, as well as the use of a magic-fueled storm to keep the setting interesting without moving her from her room (plus kudos for the pink, I was expecting blue but with the amount of movement the pink really helped them stand out).

I think the only thing that needs pointing out is that the inside of Luna's mouth needed to be darkened, as the bright red of most pony models stood out far too much against the darker room and Luna's blues. It was as if there was no shadow on it at all.
