Washington Post Investigative Foreign Correspondent Greg Miller and NBC’s Kristen Welker and Matthew Bodner join Andrea Mitchell to discuss the detainment of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich by Russian authorities and Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s condemnation and demand for Gershkovich’s release. Bodner, who knows Gershkovich through their years reporting in Moscow, tells Mitchell: “One thing I think it's important to note about Evan is that he's very brave for going on these trips to Russia after the war started. And he was very clear-eyed about the risks, so I have no doubt that he's staying strong in this current situation.”

Sadly, too many people leave ignorant immature and hate fill comments. Grow up people and have a little rational thought dignity and respect.

Considering the exchange rate established by the Griner trade, presume we’ll have to give a resurrected Joe Stalin to get our guy back.

I would love to know why this reporter is in Russia at all after we all know what Russia is doing? If you know that Russia is detaining people for no good reason then you don't go there.

He was caught near a major military installation. A long way from any financial centre, yet he was 'supposed' to be a financial journalist. He is very clearly a spy & deserves 20 years in prison

Prepare for more of this in hostile countries. We gave them a drug addicted WNBA player for an arms dealer and absolutely no one fears the potato.
