Danger of chemical injection for private well.

Safety hazard of chemical injection for a home with a private well. I did not point out that the actual problem with the calcite neutralizer was not that it was in the wrong position but that the contractor or homeowner who serviced it used inferior calcite. The neutralizer would have worked in the wrong position, but not with the junky calcite (most likely limestone and not actual calcite) installed. I dumped out the old calcite and refilled it with Imerys brand calcite.

Serious lawn guy here. City water pH of 9.55. Crazy. Can you give me a couple ideas or companies to call for a professional injection system just for my irrigation? Information is hard to come by on acid injection.

Can a calcium neutralizer tank be installed on the main well line in front of the pressure tank? I’ve had to replace four pressure tanks bc of the acid water and I’d like to stop having to do that. But I’m concerned that the 12 GPM flow rate might cause the calcite to break down too quickly and clog up my filters.

But how can they take a shower if the well pump is out? Don't see how there is any water flow if pump is out - just sayin...

That chem vat holds 50 gallons. If the well pump fails but still has power from the well switch and the chem tech is is wired to the same switch, the chem tech will stay on and empty the chem vat with caustic materials into the system. The well tank will be pressurized via the chemical vat and send caustic water to the house if someone runs the water.

You could put a quart jar on top of the chemical vat and pull out of that, just have to fill up the quart jar
