Bob Dylan - Visions Of Johanna (Live 1966) [HD FOOTAGE]

Here's an excerpt of a 50-minute Dylan compilation I made. I thought this should be released on its own. I overdubbed the original audio from this footage with superior-quality soundboard recordings from "The 1966 Live Recordings." Also, this footage is from two concerts, and though I took much care to edit the tracks together precisely, you might hear a little inconsistency. Nonetheless, it's a haunting performance by Dylan. Enjoy this gem while you can!

This is the greatest performance by anyone ever. Here he is totally hypnotic! The audience must have been in complete awe, not daring to even breathe in case it interfered with their concentration on a performance which transcended everything they had ever seen before. No one before or since, not even Dylan himself, has ever put so much of themselves into such a mesmerising performance.
A unique moment from a unique artist.

I used to lay in the dark in my teens and listen to this song over and over. It took me to a place beyond this world. Each time, I heard a different tale

man....there's something about this song, his voice, his eyes, his words. I can't really explain.

I was two years old when Blonde on Blonde came out. years later I lived in a loft that looked down on the block that the cover (of Blonde on Blonde) depicts... and, I gotta say, what with our heat pipes coughing and also the girls on the D train and all of those jewels and binoculars... and... I cannot count how many times I went charging down East Broadway with the notes of this entire album (CD) blowing through my head as I raced to reached me dealer... and so, each time I listen to this and now especially watch this... I am thrown back into a world that only exists in my throwback times. I hope I am not the only one who experiences this.

Nobody can sing quite like Dylan. He’s one of a kind. His voice is rough, nasally, boyish, mature and beautiful at the same time. He doesn’t get enough praise for his phrasing, pronunciations, pauzes. The mood he sets in his songs is just incredible.

The recording of this performance remains my single favorite Dylan moment. He was never better than this. What an absolute privilege to have been in the audience on that day in 1966.

Bob Dylan…. So deep and meaningful. Dylan lived in a world of saying what he wanted to say. He didn’t care about his acceptance or what others thought he should say or do. I hope he lives forever.

Absolute genius!!! Most of this crowd who were crowing for Bob to play his early folk songs didn't realize what they were witnessing!!!

If I could ever do a time travel, a 1966 Bob Dylan gig would my choice. I woudln't even doubt.

Very few in that audience understood what was happening before their eyes. This song captured me the first time I heard it. This performance is just extraordinary

I could watch one million consecutive hours of '66 tour footage and I'm not even remotely kidding.

Incredibly talented. Wrote from somewhere deep most of us trouble signaling on. Time and dedication this lad had, along with the journey to leave all behind and make a name for himself. We live in way different times now, well, I would just say more distractions.
Love to you all. ❤

I am always amazed at how quiet the crowd is at these old concerts. In between songs you can hear a pin drop

I’m so glad YouTube exists. Imagine missing this. I hate the transience of life. But at least this video exists

1966 dylan was so unreal. Nothing even close before and after, not even his own self. It's like he was an entirely different person that year

So much pain and truth embodied. He really was a spirit here

But Mona Lisa must've had the highway blues. You can tell by the way she smiles.
