Thanks for the review. Just picked up one from Ebay in Australia (from Creality) with a discount code. The biggest headache was getting it to work with a PC. The scanner would not connect and the note in the Creality software was to uninstall the latest windows updates then update the firmware. However some of the latest updates cannot be uninstalled so this was never going to work. Luckily I also have a MacBook (Intel version) so I installed the Creality software and bingo! Straight away the firmware updated on the scanner and then it was able to be used on the PC. So if you have a PC with the latest updates or worse still a new one with any 50XX series of Nvidia chips and no MacBook or Android phone you may never get the Raptor to work. I would agree that it is a large learning curve! Cheers from Oz.

Thank you for your review of the Creality Raptor scanner. I have been working with a Creality Ferret Pro scanner. You are absolutely correct, it takes a lot of patience to learn how to scan objects correctly. I finally managed to produce a color scan of my old Canon SLR camera. I was very impressed with what I was able to achieve. I have been using an M1 MacBook Pro. It handled even the color aspects of the camera very accurately.
The big problem that I have been having is with my iPhone 16 Pro. I can scan wirelessly with the MacBook but I have been unable to use my iPhone for wirelessly scanning objects. I’m able to join the Ferret Pro wireless network from my iPhone, but when I try to open the Creality Scan app, it always errors out with “Please connect the scanner”. I have also seen reports of folks having trouble with Android phones. I have been exchanging emails with Creality Customer support. But so far I have not gotten them to understand the problem. So I will try again. After watching this video, I noticed that you also have one about the Ferret Pro. That’s my next stop.

Just received my Raptor over the weekend, love the scanner wish I could say the same for Creality Studio.
Having to rely on 3rd part software for the simplest features is not what i would have expected.

Great review, I'd like to scan a door with a lot of metal ornament in a grave yard, it is around 2, 20m x 1.50m size. Can I use this scanner? Is it good in exterior light conditions like a sunny day? And finally, scanning that size of objects it should be by parts and further stich all the parts o I can make just one piece as a result of the scanning?

Ganz guter Scanner anscheinend, aber mal Butter bei die Fische, ist der 3DMaker Moose Pro nicht der bessere scanner, der kommt auch ohne Marker aus, Scanergebniss vergleichbar ( ? nach vids die ich so gesehen habe... ) und sogar günstiger ?

Have you tried scanning something like a Prop on one of your drones and then 3D printing it to see the quality is good enough to be used as a replacement part?

You should not rotate the turntable and keep it spinning, move the table 18 times like 20 degrees angle each time, you will get better results

I have the Raptor Pro. Ok scanner but the software is terrible.
