How to divide a line into equal parts.

In this quick video, I will show you how to divide any line into equal parts using your compass. A ruler can also be used instead of a compass to determine the equal parts on your drawn line. The line that you draw can be any measurement and any angle. Just make sure your line is long enough to accommodate the amount of parts and the measurement you use. It also doesn't matter if you use the opposite side of the line.

can you divide a circle into n equal parts, using only compass and ruler

The point of the problem is that as soon as you pick up your compass it collapses. So this doesn’t work in that case.
