It wasn't actually the ottomans fighting, the ottomans sat around and listened to orders of the Allies. It was Turkish revolutionaries that revolted against the Ottomans and then went on to fight against the Allies. The Ottomans were pretty against the Turkish revolutionaries and the war of independence and they tried to take out the leader of the revolutionaries several times.
