With 6:16 left in the first quarter, on a crucial third down and three, Mahomes faked a handoff and delivered an audacious behind-the-back pass to tight end Travis Kelce. The play not only secured the first down but also ignited the crowd.

In a post-game interview, Mahomes admitted the play was spontaneous, born out of frustration. “Yeah, long story short, Travis didn’t run the route he was supposed to run, and out of spite, I threw a behind-the-back pass,” Mahomes revealed with a laugh. “It wasn’t planned; it just happened.”
