NO REPLY BUTTON ON YOUR COMMENT? How To Fix It | New Youtube Comment System

THIS IS FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T SEE A REPLY BUTTON UNDER THEIR COMMENTS
1. Click your channel icon at the top right of your YouTube page.
2. Choose Settings under "Google account."
3. Click on "Google+
4. Then you see "Who can interact with you and your posts," make sure that "Who can send you notifications" and "Who can comment on your public posts" are set to "Anyone."

I figured that this was the case.  YouTube has a video up saying that you only can't respond to "old" comments but "new" comments are fine.  Idiots.

This improvement gives a great opportunity for trolls and a-holes in general. I got sent an insulting reply just because, but I can't reply back because of his settings. If there's one thing I liked about the old settings, at least you could vent back before you blocked someone.

The problem here is that you do NOT have control over the settings of the person you want to reply to. I have both my options set to ANYONE, yet there are people that I can not reply to here on youtube because THEY have different settings not allowing others to comment on their public posts.
I think it is the Title of the clip that is kind of confusing people. It should have been something like "WHY you can't reply to comments...." . Because there is no fix that would force someone else to change their settings.

This should be the default with an "opt out" button under settings. 

The new comment system is procrustean and counterintuitive.

Been there, done that. Problem is: I can't reply to ANY comments, the field pops up, I can write text, but the "reply" button remains inactive, i.e. pale. Doesn't work in the G+ thing, in comment sections or on the comment thing in the new "Community" thing. Methinks the problem started when the new "Community" thing got working. Any idea?

It's not that simple. Now its easy for me because they added the Reply back button under the comment, which they shouldn't remove in the first fucking place! Before they had the bull shit to oh you have to type "+" and then their username. The problem with that system is sooo stupid. There are soo many duplicate usernames. If I got to a Naruto video and see a guy with the username Obito Uchiha, there are literally hundreds of them! And several of them have the same avatar picture! WTF Google! What were they thinking! But at least some of the problem is fixed and now I can reply back to people easy just by clicking on reply to that person's comment, but here's the problem I am having now recently. Why the fuck are some of the comments replyable and others don't have the reply link? I thought maybe because oh maybe they weren't updated since it was fixed. No, because a comment from one month ago didn't have it but someone else's comment from 3 months ago have it? WTF? I don't understand why that is? Can some one please explain to me why you can reply to other but some don't have? The only good thing I can say about Google's change is that now I can type this much without having to limit to 500 characters and you can edit your comments too. Huge improvement on that but needs a lot of work on making the comment system and the whole Youtube in general more convenient. Way to go Google, you just made me pissed off at something so trivial like how to reply back a simple comment on a freakin' Youtube comment, which should've been easy to use in the first fucking place! ... So thanks!

 After selecting the channel icon, I don't see any of the options you show. I just see an option to "add account" and one to "sign out."

Total FAIL, google/youtube!  In order for me to be able to reply to another user's comment, that user has to change his/her settings!  So what am I supposed to do, write them a private message, "Hey, can you change your settings so I can reply to your youtube comment?"  Lame!

Yeah, those are the settings I have, but I still can't comment. My problem is slightly different though. I don't get a box warning me I can't post the comment, I simply don't have a "Reply" button underneath any of your posts. I can create a new post (like this one), but can't reply. I also get a warning if I try to thumbs up or down a video.

Unfortunately, the forums are pretty much useless. Very few (if any) respond, and no support from Google whatsoever.

I had to UN-instasll Firefox and then reinstall it and put you-tube.com in the exceptions for popup blocker now it works.
