In late 19th century there was an experiment performed by dr. Baraduk - and the beam in the tube was deflected just by human hand without magnet but you need some specific circumstances to produce effect (as i remember).

I have a beginners question.. would the electron beam perform better if the anode was grounded?

Is the high voltage output from that hand held tesla coil positive or negative ? or both ?
