PEMDAS Order of Operations - Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally - Algebra ✔

In math or algebra, many operations are encountered and depending on the order of operations, you will get a different answer. This math lesson shows the proper order of operation, also call PEMDAS or Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally as a way to remember this algebra order in math.

The math operations are actually, in order, parentheses, exponents, multiplication and division, and addition and subtraction. These algebra operations must be carried out in a certain order in order for the math answer to come out correctly.

PEMDAS, or Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally is a shorthand way to remember the math operations in order so that the algebra gets carried out correctly and everyone will always get the same math answer.

I had problems with math until I meet a great mathematician named Barbara Snyder in college. She taught me in 1993 at a college in silicon valley, San Jose California. She taught electric math and other electronics classes. I love her "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally" . It helped us students remember how to attacking algebra equations correctly.

I have just declared myself a math genius!
I got out of algebra by taking business math and any other basic math class offered during my junior high and high school years.
Math is now fun!! Yes, I now have a basic algebra book I bought from the local tech college bookstore! Yes, it cost a small fortune and I may be on a quick road to lunacy but at least it will be fun.
