It looks much better with the momo wheel. I use to have my SLI on my momo but I found myself looking at the wheel to check my gears all the time which isn't great, so I re-modified my wheel and bought a separate dedicated carbon fibre box which sits up in line of site and then utilised its extra buttons as a button box. I then bought some of the original cables that the G27 had on the back of it and cabled them to some custom buttons on my Momo wheel so they can still be used on the PS3

So many things, but instead they should be making brushless motor conversions too.

That's why I'm not buying a race wheel so soon. I'm waiting for them to make a cheap brushless wheel instead.

The software is separate because thats how the Leo Bodnar SLI-Pro board is used, with separate software. This guy is just packaging one of Leo's SLI boards into a box with buttons that attaches to G25/26. You can buy Leo's stuff yourself for a DIY and you have to get the software from a separate vendor, same as here. Cheaper alternatives are the Arduino DIY Button box/SLI that ISR did a story on last year. Or iRachDash or similar for iphone/ipad or android phone/tablet.

Kompa should have made a whole through the middle of the tack box and given you 2 little extension cords so you can keep and use the 6 buttons on the wheel. Obviously they might also have to change the circuit board in it to also have a whole in, but I'm sure they could have do it.

go to simracinghardware they also have a tach box kinda for the g27/g25

i wounder if it would be possible for them to put a plug through the middle, so when you connect it up, it would work like an extender for the button cables.
You would plug the Tach box into the wheel, and then plug the buttons into the tach box. It would be just a straight through connection

This way the buttons on the wheel will still work

If one wanted to go really "pro-mod" on this, you could have run the usb wire through the base thereby getting rid of that wire dingling around the wheel

it's a modified g27, those are cooling fans, the team-arc mod that ;lets the g27 put out 2 times the force that it did, bringing it closer to what a FREX wheel puts out in terms of force feedback....to some people, force feedback ads to the realism.

Are there any other wheel add ons out there? I am very interested in something like this, but that cord is just annoying by the looks of it.

Am I the only one that thinks the buttons on the original G27 are in the best place possible? I don’t think that this mod is worth it. The LED shift indication I feel is unnecessary. I also feel that the info read is unnecessary; when you are racing you won’t have time to look down at the info. The price is in my opinion not justifiable

Using 900 degrees of rotation will not make any difference to your entire setup, if it does then you have not set your wheel up correctly.
In the profiler you set 900 deg and 100% sensitivity and then tune you steering lock and sensitivity in Sim to suit, this give precision of 900 WITHOUT having to turn the well like a demented hamster. Oh as for the other buttons they are not disabled just extend the wiring to the sockets. Honestly I seriously doubt it would make me faster.
