Birth of a Wooden Barn: A Timber Frame Journey. With progress being slow due to a busted leg I have decided that it is time to start a few long compilation videos to bring the total timber framing project into review. This first video shows some of the logging as well as a lot of the milling that went into this project. The next video will show a good amount of the timber frame joinery being cut. These videos will not have the tutorial element that the timber frame vlog videos have but if you are new to the channel then those videos are easily found in a playlist on the channel. I have also finally figured out shirts for the channel. Here is a link if anybody is interested. There are regular tees, long sleeve tees and hoodies. They are available until Thursday to see how it goes. If it goes well I will make it a permanent thing.

Morning Jim.... what a nice recap! Brought back a lot of memories. You'll be back at it again in no time, you were just meant to do this project in the Winter and that's all there is to it. Jim, This video is great. Most people have no idea of the amount of physical labor required for each step of building a Timber Frame. Also the amount of equipment necessary to move the heavy lumber around. Sometimes you just have to be inventive. I always keep in mind the five basic machines. No I mean the five BASIC machines....Chainsaw, Backhoe, Forklift, Mill and ...wedges.. Hope your leg is healing well.
