Nevermore is a shining example of the musical brilliance of Freddy Mercury. The lush harmonies and sweeping melody, his use of "rubato" tempo variation all make it sound so beautiful. And yet when the lyrics are woven in, it becomes a hollow lonely sadness beyond words. If you have ever been sent to the path of Nevermore, you will understand. How can a piece of music be this beautiful, and also cold and empty?
