15.1.6 Finding Roots of Variable Expressions Part 1

How to find roots of variable expressions. The rules are the same for variables as they are for numbers. Look to the index to know how many factors it takes under the radical to extract one outside the radical. With variables this becomes division. Divide the exponent under the radical by the index and extract the variable to that quotient. Any remainders remain as exponents under the radical.
