Al Jazeera journalist and his cameraman killed in Israeli attack on Gaza

Al Jazeera Arabic journalist Ismail al-Ghoul and his cameraman Rami al-Refee have been killed in an Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip.
The strike on Wednesday targeted a car near the Aidia area west of Gaza City, according to initial information.
This is not the first time the Israeli Army has targeted journalists - many of them, working for Al Jazeera.
Journalists working in areas of conflict are protected under international humanitarian law.
Israel has been accused of violating that law -- repeatedly.
Palestinian journalists say Israel is trying to kill those telling the world what's happening in Gaza.

This is tragic news. He was an incredibly brave and professional young reporter. I don’t speak Arabic but I have particularly followed Ismail’s reports in translation because he was always on the frontlines with a well produced story.

These men in their 20s had a tougher life than most people and yet made a constant decision despite themselves failing ill, getting injured and suffering from hunger had kept reporting everyday for 10 months straight in the worst circumstances. I too have been watching him, his professionalism and admiring all the bi-lingual journalists and other Palestinians. They are not just kind, but also very intellectual, courageous and devoted to others, the people of Gaza. This is another loss of so many, too many, with such bright futures taken from us, this earth, way too early.
