Another reason is those creepy driver facing cameras, I’ve been driving for almost 30 years and recently drove for this company that had driver facing cameras and they said oh it’s no big deal, our drivers actually like em and you’ll get used to it.
Well, 2 months later and I’m not working there anymore, that camera looking at me was the creepiest thing ever with the light blinking on and off, I felt like someone was looking at me the whole day while I was driving and I just couldn’t get used to it at all, I hated it, it made me feel so uncomfortable that I couldn’t take it anymore and I will never drive a truck with a driver facing camera again, NEVER !!!

I left my last trucking job on Memorial day weekend. I don't mind working and I've voluntarily stayed out on the road for 4-6 weeks at a time. But the straw that broke the camel's back was having a dispatcher improperly scheduling loads that didn't give me enough time to make the delivery on time and everytime I brought it to his attention, he tells me that I don't know what I'm talking about. On top of that, suggest that I use off duty PC to either pickup or deliver the load. After several times of having that stunt pulled on me, I took the truck back to the terminal and told him to drive it his Goddamn self!!

Well then why aren't we being paid more? Why isn't there a pay raise program that reviews drivers every 3-6 months and gives them a raise? Why don't I know when I'm going to get a raise?
Why aren't drivers paid for ALL actual work such as drop and hook, pretrip and posttrip, truck washes, fueling, getting air checks for all tires, waiting time for loading and unloading (why 2 hours of OUR time is free? ), all waiting time for loads (again 2 hours free work), waiting time for repairs (again, again 2 hours free), wait time at borders, etc. All of this work that benefits the company for FREE.
Why no uniforms for a more professional look?
Why do I not even know who to ask these questions to?

We should had the Insurance. Insurance is making the trucking very difficult and boring. The high premium price, the cameras everywhere, speed limiters, driver experience, driver record etc... The government must do something to stop making our jobs impossible to enjoy. By the way, I'm not against the ELog.

Companies know all this. They are not dumb. This has been going on for many years. They now people gotta work so they take advantage of this.

Unfortunately it's low pay, long hours, high risk and no life. Constant harassment from law enforcement DOT. Nothing is ever going to change because drivers are easy to replace one person quits five people apply.

#11 you can get locked up for a very long time if found guilty in an accident, and defense process will leave you homeless.
